Vega Salmon had as many as three products nominated as finalists for this year’s Seafood Global Excellence Award. Our ‘The Salmon Chef’ brands infused portions within the convenience concepts of spiced frozen portions ready to be cooked in its unique seasoning bag – here two out of three flavours were nominated as finalists, the Kentucky Bourbon Barbeque and the Thai Sweet Chili.
Our state-of-the-art sustainable Paperboard solution, presented under our ‘Nordic Salmon’ brand in its large format with 50% plastic reduction was to compete in the final against so many other brilliant innovations – but ended up winning the prize for best Retail Packaging at the Seafood Excellence Global Award Show 2023!
Denmark’s Vega Salmon A/S nabbed the Seafood Excellence Global special award for Retail Packaging for its Cold-Smoked Salmon in Sustainable Packaging. Made with 50 percent less plastic, the product’s packaging offers a clear and concise waste separation guide that helps ensure proper recycling. The premium, cold-smoked salmon “can help retailers and consumers meet their goals to reduce waste and recycle,” the judges said.
